Hellboy

Born in the flames of hell 60 years ago during World War II, Hellboy (Ron Perlman) was sent to Earth by the diabolical madman Grigori Rasputin (Karen Roden) to do evil. Destined to be an omen of the Apocalypse, Hellboy was rescued by the Allied Forces led by Professor Broom (John Hurt), founder of the clandestine I.I.P.D. (Institute for Paranormal and Defense Research), who raised him as a son and developed his extraordinary paranormal powers. Despite its obscure origins, Hellboy becomes an extra-or hero of good, who fights against the forces of evil that threaten our world.

In the I.I.P.D., Hellboy becomes part of an extra-a family that includes the telepath "Mer-Man" Abe Sapien (Doug Jones) and Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), which is pyro-kinática. Hidden from society, they are meant to protect; they are a key defense line against Rasputin - who wants Hellboy on the dark side in order to use his powers to unleash Armageddon. As Broom says of the I.I.P.D., "You do not make mistakes, there are things out there that strike at night, we are the ones who strike back."
