The spell

It's about the story of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a pair of paranormal researchers who founded the New England Society for Psychic Research. In 1971 the Perron family requested his help after several dangerous and paranormal incidents happened in his house in the countryside. What really makes your hair stand on end is that this movie is based on a true story, so I decided to investigate how similar to reality is the film, something that turned out not to be so difficult, because the people who lived it are still alive to tell it.

In a recent interview with USA Today the youngest daughter of the Perron family and Lorraine Warren gave their point of view about the veracity of the facts. Perron claimed that there really were many spirits in the house and confirmed that some of them were vengeful like the one we see in the movie. She considers that one of the spirits was angry because she saw her mother as competition when they first moved into the house. Of course, during the interview Andrea Perron was asked why they did not just move out of the house (the family lived there for nine years), to which she replied that it was her destiny to endure the supernatural experiences to share with the world.

Although both interviewees assured that most of the facts shown in the film are a faithful enough representation of what really happened, there is a scene in the film that did not happen exactly as described.
